The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting For: Siniya League Launch
Greetings in the name of the almighty who has graced us with the gift of this day.
Dear fellow Basiniya, residing in the heart of Siniya since 2006 has been nothing short of an incredible journey. It was during one of the recent soccer galas in Kampala that we, as proud Basiniya, realised that a significant number of players were alumni of Siniya (Kigezi College Butobere). This revelation sparked the idea for The Siniya Great League.
Football has always been the unifying force among Basiniya, connecting us across generations. In light of this, I envisioned a non-political, inclusive organisation, uniting Siniya old boys dating back to the 1950s and up to the present day.
On the memorable day of September 17, 2023, we gathered at the picturesque Valley Bliss Meat & Grill in Kyaliwajjala to officially establish the executive committee, which comprises the following dynamic individuals:
🔵 MUTUNGI OSCAR PETER – Chairman
🔵 TALEMWA JOSHUA (Kyanteku) – General Secretary
🔵 ELISON ASINGWIRE (Kadidi) – Treasurer
🔵 TUSIIME INNOCENT BOUB (Ak’amasanyu) – Publicity
We are thrilled to announce that 18 teams have already pledged their commitment to participate in this thrilling endeavour. The grand launch is set to unfold on the 12th of November 2023, at the stunning Arches Gardens, Kisaasi, nestled along Kisota Road. The event kicks off at 9 AM and promises an unforgettable day that will signal the beginning of the inaugural Siniya League Season in 2024.
