School Regulations

Students must at all times obey and respect the school authority vested in the Head teacher, Deputy, Teachers, Prefects and all persons to whom the authority of the Head teacher may be delegated from time to time. Disobedience, obstruction, rudeness, insubordination, refusal to cooperate with authority, failure to carry out and submit academic assignments or attend classes, are acts which contravene this rule. Students are to cooperate with the non teaching and support staff.
  1. School Dues:
    A student shall be allowed in school upon complete payment of all school dues unless with permission from the head teacher. Any student found in the school without fulfilling the above requirement shall be asked to leave immediately.
  2. Teasing and Bullying:
    (a) Teasing, bullying and any other form of harassment of fellow students is punishable by exclusion and recommendation for expulsion.
    (b) Any student who causes bodily harm to a fellow student or any other member of the community shall be handed over to appropriate authorities for prosecution.
  3. Deviant behaviour:
    Engaging in foreign practices like homosexuality/sodomy and any other antisocial behaviour like theft or hooliganism is extremely prohibited. Any student identified shall be recommended for exclusion. Students must respect all school staff. Prefects and Councilors No student is allowed to punish another.
  4. Dangerous weapons:
    Possession of firearms and any other dangerous weapon is strictly prohibited. Offenders shall be excluded and handed over to relevant authorities for prosecution.
  5. Dining hall:
    Failure to observe order like taking multiple shares, carrying dining utensils out of the hall, entering the hall in slippers and dirty clothes are outlawed. Offenders shall be punished.
    The kitchen is strictly out of bounds for students.
  6. Personal hygiene, sanitation and community work:
    All students shall observe high standards of personal hygiene, sanitation and participate in community work. All students must participate in cleaning dormitories, classrooms and compound. Tresspassing on compound is outlawed.
    Sharing of beds is strictly for bidden. Offenders shall be punished.
  7. Students on suspension:
    A student on definite suspension, who stubbornly remains in school or comes back before the expiry of the suspension period without permission, shall automatically be recommended for dismissal. Any student found harbouring a student on definite or indefinite suspension shall also be excluded from school.
  8. Change of dormitories/classes/subject combination:
    A stúdent shall not change any of the above allocated to him on admission without permission of school authority. Offenders shall be punished.
  9. Unauthorized assemblies and or inciting violence:
    (a) Students shall not hold unauthorized assemblies.
    (b) Inciting violence is prohibited.
    (c) Offenders of (a) and (b) shall be recommended for exclusion from the school.
    Any cause of discomfort should be channeled through students’ leaders or reported directly to the administration.
  10. School programmes:
    All school programmes including co-curricular and assemblies are compulsory, sharing of beds is strictly prohibited. Offenders shall be punished.
  11. Reporting to school:
    All students must report to school on the 1st day of the term between 8:00am and 5:00pm. A student who fails to report on the 1st day will have to report with a parent/guardian.
  12. Indiscipline:
    All forms of indiscipline like; disobedience to those in authority, fighting, dodging lessons, tests and exams, escaping from school, uniform defaulting, use of abusive language, smoking and drinking alcohol and any other similar offences are punishable by indefinite suspension from school.
  13. School Uniform:
    All students must put on school uniform at all school functions in and outside school. Students must put on closed black shoes during class time. No student is allowed to change the format or measurements of the uniform provided.
  14. Academics:
    Students must attend to all lessons and preps without fail. All tests and examinations are compulsory. Persisted offenders shall be excluded from the school. Cheating in tests and examinations may lead to expulsion.
    Students must work hard to meet the academic standards of this school.
  15. Entertainment:
    This programme is controlled by the Entertainment prefect and the Teacher in charge, in close consultations with the administration.
    When entertainment is allowed, no student has special privileged over seats or is allowed to
    watch from the staffroom.
  16. Languages:
    English and Swahili are the only languages of communication in school. Defaulters will be given appropriate punishments within school.
  17. Vandalism:
    Vandalizing of school property is prohibited; the culprit will be made to replace the property. Persistent vandalism will lead to indefinite suspension from school. Failure to identify the culprit, everybody in that place will be charged.
  18. Visiting day:
    Visitation day shall only be on the day specified once a term. All visitors must report to Administration first. Visitors are not allowed in students’ dormitories. Offenders will be suspended.
  19. Gadgets:
    Private/Personal cooking gadgets, mobile phones, radios, cassette players and bicycles are not allowed in school. Offenders will be suspended from school.
  20. Out of bounds:
    Areas outside the school compound including Butobere Trading Centre, the school farm and the school staff quarters are out of bounds. Offenders will be suspended indefinitely.

The current school rules and regulations shall not be changed without the consent of the school Board of Governors.
