Together, we form a tight-knit unit that strives for greatness on and off the court.

Achievements

Since 2017, Kigezi College Butobere has established a legacy of dominance in the Kabale District ASSHU Ball Games II Championships. We are proud to have clinched the championship title back-to-back in the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. Please note that the Kabale District ASSHU Ball Games II Championships were not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the unfortunate circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our players and the community were of utmost importance during these challenging times. However, we remained committed to training and preparing for future competitions, ensuring that our team stays ready to showcase their skills when the games resume.

In 2022, the games resumed and Kabale District ASSHU Ball Games II 2022 saw us face fierce opponents such as Ndorwa, St. Maria Goretti, Kamuganguzi, and St. Mary’s College, Rushoroza. After intense battles, we emerged as the finalists, locked in a thrilling clash against St. Mary’s. The first match ended in a draw due to fading light, and the stage was set for a decisive rematch.
On a bright Saturday morning, the air was electric with anticipation as St. Mary’s and Kigezi College Butobere took to the court. St. Mary’s, fueled by their determination and post-lockdown sports investment, aimed to seize victory from our grasp. However, our lads, infused with an unwavering spirit, delivered an outstanding performance.
The match unfolded with breathtaking intensity. St. Mary’s secured the first set, leaving the crowd in awe of their resilience. As whispers of an upset circulated, our team rallied and reclaimed the second set, showcasing their unwavering dedication. The stage was set for a climactic third set.
With hearts pounding and eyes fixed on the prize, both teams battled relentlessly. But it was our invincible Siniya team that emerged triumphant, overwhelming St. Mary’s with a commanding victory. The final score of the third set, 12:25, left no doubt about our dominance.
Kigezi College Butobere (Siniya) emerged as the undisputed champions, adding yet another trophy to our illustrious collection. Our success on the court extends beyond district competitions, as we regularly challenge Volleyball Clubs and University Teams, leaving them humbled and defeated.

Kigezi Exhibition League 2023: In this highly competitive open tournament, our team faced off against strong opponents including KYVC, Pamoja, Safaris, Escendimus, UCC (who withdrew before completing), Phoenix (Kabale University Volleyball), and more. Our players showcased their determination, teamwork, and talent throughout the league, culminating in an electrifying final game. In a commanding display of skill, our team emerged victorious, securing a remarkable 3-0 win over Phoenix Volleyball Club and proudly lifting the Exhibition League trophy.

Additionally, we participated in the KAB Open Gala, organized by Kabale University in March 2023, where our team displayed skill, determination, and sportsmanship, ultimately finishing 4th in the overall standings.

KAB Open Gala: We proudly participated in the KAB Open Gala, a prestigious tournament organized by Kabale University. Our team exhibited skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event, competing against top-level opponents. With relentless dedication and a passion for the game, our players showcased their abilities and teamwork, resulting in an impressive 4th-place finish in the overall standings.
